Waiting can be one of the toughest things that God tells us to do. Today, we live in a time that we want everything to happen now. I have seen countless times that God has my best interest in the long run, but I still have a problem with trusting God. In my life doubt and worry is constantly an issue that I struggle with.
But God has been teaching me to trust Him in every circumstance. Even when he tells us that we need to wait. There have been a few situations with my future that I have no clue what I am supposed to do. The answer to these situations has not been resolved, but I pray that God does answer these prayers.
I also pray that God will make it clear in what direction I should go in, but sometimes God doesn’t make the answer the clear. Sometimes God gives us options of what direction to go in, and he allows us to decide. Ultimately, He knows what direction we will go in, and still has a plan for our life. Though some roads of our lives aren’t completely clear.
An example of this in my life was when I decided what college to attend. I applied to 8 different schools, and I got accepted to all 8 as well. I had at least 8 options of where I could go to school for my freshman year. The initial plan was go to Liberty University, but as soon as I came up to Liberty for CFAW (College for a Weekend) I realized that this school was not where I was meant to be for my freshman year of college. After waiting a few months for an answer, I realized that I was meant to go to Carson-Newman University for my freshman year. Ultimately God used my time at Carson-Newman for good. I met some pretty cool people, and I learned a lot about myself. Though Carson-Newman is not the school I will graduate from it was still a place that God used to grow me closer to Him.
Waiting can be one of the worst and best situations for us. It can teach us patience and trust. Waiting isn’t the worst outcome though, because what we are hoping for will come. The answer just might not be in our own timing.
I have a few things in my life that I feel God is telling me to wait for. I’m not going to say waiting is going to be easy, because it’s not! But I know waiting is all for my good. I know that one day these things will come. When that day comes, I’ll appreciate it more than I would if it came into my life now.

there is an old country song – Thank God for unanswered prayers – I can relate – so many things I thought I wanted but did not get. When I look back and see now what God wanted for me I can’t help but see the blessing. God always knows what is best for us. If we only pray for what we want, He probably won’t anwser (or we won’t like the answer). We need to remember to pray for Gods will for us. Amen

I have actually heard of that song before! It’s a wonderful feeling to notice the blessing from God! It can be hard to pray for God’s will in our life, but I am learning that ultimately giving Him control is the best thing for us.
