A Letter to My Future Husband

Standard

Hi Future Husband!

I’m excited to one day marry you and build a life with you. I don’t know who you are yet, but I trust that God will reveal this in His perfect timing. I’ve been praying about you and what kind of man you will be since I was in high school. Some of the prayers I have prayed for is that you are a strong Christian, will love me with all your heart, enjoys working so we can give to others, and many other things.

The past couple years have been tough for me in regards to guys. I was wearing my heart on my sleeve. There were several guys I truly cared about, but each one of them took a beating on my heart. After the most recent heart break I was at a point where I was asking God if He had forgotten about me. I want to be married one day, and I have seen a lot of my friends find their person. I know we’re not supposed to compare our lives to other people, but being bombarded with relationship updates on social media hasn’t helped the situation.

Now I am at a place where I am trusting God with the situation, and I am working to be the best me in the meantime. I’m building the life that I want for myself. I’ve always been strong and independent, but now I am doing the things that I know will be good for me in the long run. I still have a lot to do before I achieve some of my goals, but hopefully I have the time to do so.

I can’t wait for the day I find out who you will be. I know you will capture my heart in ways I can’t describe at the moment. I am excited for our future together one day. I pray that you will be a man who has goals for yourself, and you will help me achieve my goals. I wonder about who you will be and if you’re in my life already. I also wonder what you will look like, but honestly for me it’s more important what’s on the inside than external appearances.

I am going to continue to pray for you until I know who you will be. Then once I figure that out I’ll pray for you by name. I hope you’re growing closer to God and are praying about me too. Also, I know I will love you and I will do everything I can to bring a smile to your face. I know we will have challenges, but together and with God we can navigate this thing called life.

Love,

Your Future Wife
